Mosaic 2021 Cancelled

Regina Multicultural Council (RMC) Cancels “Mosaic – A Festival of Cultures” for 2021.

The Mosaic committee hosted a recent Pavilion Zoom meeting and the meeting was very well represented with fifteen (15) pavilions in attendance. All options to host Mosaic 2021 were discussed and a unanimous vote led to cancelling Mosaic 2021 due to the Covid-19 uncertainty. The RMC is focusing on planning for Mosaic 2022 next year. Stay tuned for further updates.

National Indigenous Peoples Day

The Regina Multicultural Council recognizes and joins in the celebration of the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Indigenous peoples of Canada. We honour that this year marks the 25th anniversary.

It is important also to celebrate Indigenous contributions to Canada and the rich and diverse cultures of Indigenous Peoples and understand that there are many Indigenous nations in Canada and that there is no one “Indigenous perspective” or universal belief, style of art or dance. National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the unique Indigenous Peoples in our community here in Regina.

It is also an opportunity to acknowledge the challenges that Indigenous people have faced in our society and and the discrimination that they’re currently facing and continue to face but the Regina Multicultural Council works to promote equality and dignity for all

So today on June 21 which is also is the arrival of summer solstice and the longest day of the year, we join shoulder to shoulder with our Indigenous brothers and sisters in this celebration of diversity in the rich culture that they have unfolded for us from their history.
